My name is Mickey Boyd Folger. I am a native Texan, born in the Permian Basin, specifically Midland, Texas. I earned a Master of Education Administration at Grand Canyon University. I taught English language arts in Midland for six years before moving to Austin. I have served as an ELA teacher, ESL instructional coach, and a reading teacher and dyslexia specialist. I have written rigorous, engaging curriculum, recruited teachers, mentored new teachers, led several committees, helped high school students recover credit through various alternative learning programs, and worked as campus coordinator with an Austin nonprofit to engage community kids in fostering a love for STEM education during the summer. I am married to my high school sweetheart, have two sons, and an energetic puppy. I enjoy living in Austin where the weather is mild, the people are weird, and the opportunities to serve the MAC community are endless!
